G. DONIZETTI

MARIA STUARDA

26. 29 SEPT 2018

Royal intrigues explode onto stage as Donizetti dramatizes the fatal conflict between two Tudor Queens, Elizabeth I and Mary, Queen of Scots, bitter rivals both for the throne and for the love of Robert Leicester. Spectacular singing and spine-tingling confrontations take the focus in Matthew Wild’s minimalist staging, premiered to great acclaim in 2015 at the Artscape Opera House.

Kamal Khan once again leads the cast, CTO Chorus and CPO in an inspired reading of Donizetti’s masterly score.
