Since graduating in 2010 from UCT Lukhanyo Moyake has performed with Cape Town Opera in roles which include Alfredo in La traviata, Jaquino in Fidelio, Belmote in Die Entführung aus dem Serail, Leicester in Maria Stuarda, Camille de Rosillon in the Merry Widow of Malagawi.
With the cape town opera production of porgy and Bess, Moyake has sung the part of Sporting’ Life at the gran teatre del liceu Barcelona and the Teatro Real in Madrid.
In 2015 Moyake reached the final round of the International Hans Gabor Belvedere Singing Competition, held in Amsterdam. Lukhanyo won 3rd prize in the Neue Stimmen International Singing Competition, held in Germany. In 2016 Moyake won the Emmerich Smola Forderpreis in Landau Germany.
In 2016 he sung the role of Don José in Carmen at Teatro Nacional de São Carlos in Lisbon and Sportin’ Life in Porgy and Bess in Buenos Aires.
Recently Lukhanyo was among the 20 singers who competed for the title of BBC Cardiff Singer of the World 2017.
Moyake sings the role of Steuermann in Cape Town Opera’s production of Wagner’s Der Fliegende Holländer.
Mr. Moyake performs as Justice and a member of the ensemble in the Mandela Trilogy in Dubai (9-11 Nov.) and Hong Kong (17 – 19 Nov)
In early 2018 Mr. Moyake makes his UK debut as Alfredo in the English National Opera’s production of Verdi’s La traviata.
